Binary Tendencies

It seems we are living at the end of time, surrounded by nothing but chaos. Do absolutes such as truth and the physical world — things that might have once been considered undeniable — now appear to be misconceptions?

Binary Tendencies is a project that attempts to question the stance of a graphic designer amid political turmoil within the realms of the pandemic, propaganda, and protests.

Graphic Design is often associated with politics and is adopted to resist or empower authoritarian establishments and tenets. The engagement of graphic design with socio-political affairs has its impact on history and ethics. In recent times, the reaction to extreme polarization, indoctrination, rapid transition into the digital domain, and social media has led to extensive developments. With social media being easily accessible, it has grown beyond the creative communes, practically allowing anyone to engage in such subjects and exposing them to a colossal pool of information(or misinformation). The producers and consumers of this information contribute to a crucial shift leading to disruptive visual communication. Do we deny our responsibility and the impact of our works in the present and the foreseeable future?
