The five senses work together to help us understand the world. When traveling, sense perception makes each individual experience unique. Combine sensory experience with a natural desire to collect mementos and you have a physical representation of a travel experience. When traditional travel is not possible but the need for new experiences is, ‘staycations’ provide a practical workaround, stimulating the senses from the comfort of home. Travelense is an app that takes this to the next level, curating a more genuine staycation by bridging the gap between memories and sensorial experiences. As a designer, I believe we can have a positive effect on the world by having a positive attitude. You might say I look for the silver lining.

Login pages allow users to create their own account.
Different tabs allow users to see the cities that are both trending and new. They can also search for a keyword and like any city to save to their account.
Each city page contains a detailed description of its history. It includes photos taken around the city, as well as objects that are significant to the culture. Object descriptions are based on senses, and can be purchased to use at home.
Sensory pages provide detailed information on objects that are culturally significant to the city. They provide a brief history as well as how to use the object in the home in order to feel closer to the location.
A short survey allows the app to curate a unique sensory package. This option is for those who want to receive a surprise package with objects from around the world based on the senses they chose, rather than choosing items on their own.
