Recycling System Design
In early 2020, Covid-19 struck the world. Stores shut down and online consumption increased dramatically. Amazon Prime is a membership service that includes free delivery of products and groceries. As of December 2020, more than 60% of all households in the US had an Amazon Prime membership. With such a dramatic uptick in online consumption and delivery services like Amazon comes a dramatic uptick in waste. As a designer, I believe problems can be solved efficiently and elegantly. Redressing the Amazon ecosystem involved a series of steps that not only systemized recycling but incentivized it across the board. When everyone benefits, the world benefits.
